This heat exchanger includes a U-tube inside a U-shaped shell. Inner tube corrugated or plain. Flow is pure countercurrent and enables very high temperatures crossing between tube side and shell side fluids.

According to the design temperature and pressure conditions and fluids process, materials are selected from all metals available like: austenitic stainless steels, duplex, high temperature resistance steels, superaustenitic, exotic alloys (Inconel, Incolloy, Monel, Hastelloy), titanium alloys (grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 11), coppernickel Cu/Ni 90/10 and 70/30, Admiralty brass, copper and carbon steel.
